The letter G (small g) is called “G” and usually makes the sound “Guh”. Common first words are Goat, Grape, Guitar.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “G… G for Goat”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with G, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
