👨👩👧 For parents: teaching the letter P
The letter P (small p) is called “P” and usually makes the sound “Puh”. Common first words are Panda, Pen, Pizza.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “P… P for Parrot”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with P, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
