👨👩👧 For parents: teaching the letter Q
The letter Q (small q) is called “Q” and usually makes the sound “Kuh”. Common first words are Queen, Quilt, Question.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “Q… Q for Queen”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with Q, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
