The letter Z (small z) is called “Z” and usually makes the sound “Zzz”. Common first words are Zebra, Zoo, Zero.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “Z… Z for Zebra”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with Z, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
