👨👩👧 For parents: teaching the letter V
The letter V (small v) is called “V” and usually makes the sound “Vuh”. Common first words are Van, Vase, Violin.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “V… V for Van”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with V, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
