The letter H (small h) is called “H” and usually makes the sound “Huh”. Common first words are Hat, Horse, House.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “H… H for Hat”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with H, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
