The letter M (small m) is called “M” and usually makes the sound “Mmm”. Common first words are Monkey, Moon, Mango.
Say the name first, then the sound, then a word: “M… M for Monkey”. Ask your child to repeat it, find something at home that starts with M, and then trace the letter. Read more in our guide to teaching the alphabet.
